I wanted to talk about pornstars in relationships in their lives outside of their jobs. Is it possible for someone whose occupation is having and filming sex to be in love with someone? I feel like most conservative people will say no and that it is unethical. I am not the one to judge because it isn’t my life, but if it is possible to love when you are in the porn industry then why not. I think sex would be ruined and it wouldn’t be as sentimental. 

How would a lady who has meaningless sex for money essentially be able to have compassionate sex with their partner? On the other side how could the partner who may not be in the porn industry not be jealous or fed up with their loved one having sex with several other people? I feel as if a pornstar is in a relationship it constitutes everything that a relationship is not supposed to be, which is to not commit adultery, but at the end of the day these are people and they can decide what they want with their lives. It also raises the question what is a relationship and can you be in an open relationship. Sure, they would receive a lot of backlash being in a relationship, but who is to say they cannot love someone. It is tough to talk about it when we aren’t in their shoes, but it is an interesting topic.

I wanted to touch on the topic we discussed in class the other day about pop music. I feel like many people especially in current today are not fully understanding pop music. This type of music is generational, so there are older generations right now that don’t get the point of it and fall into the generalization that it is stupid, dumb, and bad music. I get why this happens because they are not used to this form of music and many people aren’t great with change, but the music industry is constantly evolving just like many other things as time progresses. So, I foresee in thirty-five years when my generation, which is Generation Z, are the mid-aged adults and their offspring are the youngest generation then pop music will finally be understood. It is important for this music to be understood and that goes for any music because there are messages and lessons to learn from music, and most importantly it is a form of art. The significance of art is essential to human life because it keeps us grounded, preserves our history, and gives us a purpose. Pop music has created such a huge industry; worth hundreds millions of dollars. There is no reason to exile pop music and in fact I would hope the older generations would see that there are benefits to it. It certainly wouldn’t be doing well if it wasn’t producing this much money. Music has therapeutic benefits and is a source of entertainment, but more importantly it can make people happy which is the most overlooked thing about pop music. 

This chapter is centered around the hate during the Nov. 8^thelection between Trump and Clinton. I found it interesting how many people who were huge political figures in America were openly swearing about how much they hate Trump. The Obama family was quoted saying that if women had not voted for Clinton then they were voting against their own voice in the world. The section also talks about California’s attempt to succeed from the united states. The state had hated Trump with so much velocity that a vote was held to see if the people of the state wanted to leave the United States. The vote ended in a 1/3ths vote to leave, so nothing was done. Yet, if the vote had gone towards those that wanted to leave there would have been a huge military and political issue. The state has many federal parks and programs run by the federal government, if they left the nation than those lands and programs would have been brutally fought over because you can’t just physically cut the parks out of the landscape and drop them on another part of US soil. Many celebrities took out personal ads on many platforms against Trump, with words of hate and provocative language to try and get the message across of how horrible they thought he was. 

There were and still are many groups who are outwardly trying to go against the current president. These groups are called Never Trump, the Resistance, and Meeting of the Concerned. These groups had a goal of getting rid of Trump. Their members or advocates included citizens, high up government workers, and social icons life actors and singer. There are endless quotes in this chapter of hatred towards the president, where they are threatening his life. Many people said that he should be assassinated or removed from this life by force. There were little repercussions for those threatening the president’s life. It was brushed off and very few were put on a no-fly list, but that was it. One congresswoman, Maxine Waters told her told her followers to use physical and verbal force towards any of Trump’s administration if they were seen in public. 

This chapter enlightened me to the outward hate towards Trump before and during his presidency/election. Many of these quotes and scenarios that were given by the author were not publicly spread over social media platforms in the time of the election. They seem to have been hidden from the general public and for so many reasons. It is interesting how in the last couple of months Trump has in fact still been hated by the public and now he is going through the impeachment process for multiple allegations.

In the book, ‘The Case for Trump’ written by Victor Davis Hanson, chapter 11, ‘Trump, The Tragic Hero?’ highlights President Trump and his reputation that he has created for himself. Tragic heroes are not intrinsically noble; much less are they likable and can often be obnoxious and petty, if not dangerous, especially to those around them. Characters such as these have been portrayed from Homer’s Iliad and Sophocles’ plays. These types of individuals rarely end up well and on occasion, neither do those around them. For a variety of reasons, both personal and civic, their characters not only should not be altered but also could not be, even if the tragic hero wished to change given his views of the human experience. Trump will end up in one of the two fashions, both personas will not turn out well for him. He will either be spectacular but unacknowledged for his accomplishments followed by ostracism when he is out of the office or a single term due to the eventual embarrassment of his beneficiaries. Tragic heroes do not necessarily intend to be heroic; sometimes their motives for confronting dangers or solving crises can just as easily be self-centered or arise from a desire for personal vengeance or fantasies. Their reputations are heavily spectated and in this case and era, to some, Trump has plagued his reputation through social media. Even before his involvement in politics, some may have disapproved of his character through his presence in the acting field. Some may definitely recognize Trump as a tragic while others completely disagree.
