American opinions about refugees

Just saw these interesting Pew data.  Pew highlights the political affiliation difference, but there are a number of other interesting bits.  E.g., plurality of whites say ‘no responsibility.’  Historically, the fairly consistent American position has been negative on refugees.  Thoughts?
