Here’s a study that shows that American attitudes about refugee resettlement drop considerably when the question moves from the abstract, national level (they should be let in) to a local specificity (they should be let in to live in your neighborhood). What do you think this says about this question?
The study also describes “threatening media frames” and their effect on attitudes (they predictably drive acceptance of refugee resettlement down). Interestingly, “media frames rebutting the threat” did not significantly drive attitudes in a positive direction. What do you think this tells us?
